Met the bus at noon yesterday and found our two Port Alberian friends, off to the rooftop ASAP and only ventured to the ocean for a good swim at four, then a quick shower (quick in Mexican time!)and then a lovely meal of camarones Mexicana
Walked the beach to town, the square and a papeleria for a notebook for Spanish class this morning.
Our teacher, Robin is awesome! Works us very hard, the heads are full after an hour but we can stay on and join in with the intermediates when they arrive an hour later than us. Some days we stay and other days we are finished after the first hour.
We are off to the Rotary breakfast tomorrow to learn how we can give back to this community. We know of two big fund raisers, the chili cook off and the big auction. Last year we attended the cook off in Barra and the chef and owner Dave from the Laughing Oyster in Powell River came back to La Manizilla with the prize. We have not experienced the auction so look forward to learning about it.
The weather remains in the low thirties and our company is spending their first day here the same way we did last week, under the palapa, drinking lots of water!
One of them has even learned to ride my bike and is off to the bank with Dave at the moment!
