Iggy

This is Iggy, our friendly and harmless iguana on our front gate. He really would like to come in, but we told him that we only accept friendly humans.
The snowbirds are arriving in droves!!  The campground next door has folks from BC, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Everyone hit Concha Del Mar for the weekly golf ball toss on the beach and the 2 for 1 cheap beer.
Our little family run restaurant Tenacatita is filled this afternoon with locals, the music is blaring  and a little guy has the mike, what an awesome voice, too cute in his big gold sombrero. Of course we can experience this whole beach scene from the rooftop but I am tempted to go and join them on the dance floor!!

Spanish lessons are every morning 9-10:30 in Barra so we jump the 8:40 bus, pay our 80 cents and off to see Robin. She is an awesome teacher, her first teaching assignment was in Cumberland, BC for goodness sakes. Now, she and husband Scott are Mexican residents with a beautiful home and classroom on Calle Costa Occidental.
Our landlady, Esperanza, takes English lessons from Robin from 8-9 so we meet in the classroom doorway each day and have made a deal... she speaks to us in English and we respond in Spanish. So far, she's ahead because for some strange reason I flip over to French half way through my Spanish sentence. Dave has lots of vocabulary and gets us everything we need along the way.
Sorry to be so wordy but I hope to use this as my journal so hit delete any time you like!
