Guadalupe

Enjoyed the parade last night and need to make a correction for the latest blog. Those 6 million folks visited the Basilica in 2009 over three days, Dec 10-12, not over Easter as I said earlier. There are very few people lining the streets for the parade as every local seems to be IN the parade, walking behind their decorated interpretation of Lady of Guadalupe

Dave power washed the outside bricks walls at the church yesterday then we stopped in to see Gibsons folks who golf with  our friend, the school bus driver from Gibsons!!  (not giving any names away here Carl, mostly because he takes the school bus to the golf course before he does his afternoon run! but we already knew that.) In our short time here we have met so many people from BC, 4 from Coombs, 2 from Cumberland (Brad D sister!), 6 from Powell River, 5 from Gibsons and too many to count from the Okanaghan.. In addition, the thrust seems to be snowbirds from las vegas, North Dakota, Minn, Quebec, Ont, and California. Imagine, too cold in CA for some in the winter!!
