Some time in Zihuatanejo

After four days in this area, we have decided it can be a destination for a month in the future. The city is very busy but still has the warm welcoming atmosphere of places farther  north.
We have met many Anglos who winter here, mostly from Washington State, BC and Alberta, all saying that they are escaping the rain of the north.

At the pier in Zihuatanejo

this one is for Kaiya, she loves pelicans. Notice that the boats are different from those in Melaque

Zihua means "village of women", quite a history

I wanted to buy two of these for Jeryl's girls. PM me Jeryl with the sizes. Gracias.

along this bay, named Costa Grande, there are many separate beaches, Playa Principla, Playa Madera and Playa Ropa all with walking distance on their malecon. There are many vacation rentals on these hillsides.

One of many statues of women, honoring the beginning of this community so many years ago
This translate to the fat mermaid.
The Artisans Mercado, stretches 5 blocks along Cinco de Mayo and ends up at the playa. Nice covered sidewalks provide great shade and each artisan has his trade engraved on his sign overhead.

Last minute prep for Guadaloupe, Dec 12

The flowers are absolutely beautiful
