So, instead of our usual World Vision purchase of two goats this year, we found a very rewarding alternative... buy local!
At 22 pesos a kilo, our regular donation went much farther and our sweet little hard working family have added to their herd and on their way to independence and dreams of a little home for themselves in the future
Here Julia ( pronounced Hoo Lee a) claps and calls the owner's herd for us. Alex, her husband, is off, working hard on their property to get it ready for when they become self sufficient owner/herders.
Three baby goats are Christmas gifts from our grandchildren and as many adults that bring the weight to 54 kilos will be from the adults in our family. I wanted to give them the names of our family members but they have a very serious recording system of letters and numbers to ensure a healthy and good sized next generation. no worries.... G 3 will be Garrett, D6 will be Drayson and K2 will be Kaiya!!!!
A bike ride back from Julia"s via the laguna to Esmerelda's for the weekly bridge group, up to three tables today!
