Feb 2016

No, we have not dropped off the face or the earth nor have we stopped travelling but our blog has been totally ignored by me, not by readers, I see ---over 6500 page views and comments from folks that they find some good info in our pages that help them in their travel plans so I will attempt a short catch up.

So, a slight change in our travel schedule this year. We stayed in our home for the first time in many years, beginning the first of September, did a big kitchen reno and a complete interior paint job, all in time for a family Christmas at home.

This was exciting  because we opened Christmas decoration boxes the first time in eight years, giggled at the play dough ornaments from elementary school and cherished all the Snow Babies and crystal angels from my angel sister over the years.

Snow arrived for our enjoyment, snow duck sculpture a highlight and snow shoe adventure on Arrowsmith will be cherished memories.

Dec 28, home was closed up for three months under the watchful eye of our neighbour and a few friends , then off to Puerto Vallarta with a friend who took Dave's seat on the plane and kept me company for the two weeks Dave was in NB.
He arrived here Jan 16, stayed for 48 hours then returned to NB for another eight days. By the time he finally got here and settled in, I was well tanned and part of our Melaque community. It didn't take him long to join the bike boys and get on to the pickle ball courts!

Birthday parties and baby showers for the locals are always a pleasure to attend.

Pedro, my seamstress friend, decided to combine one daughter's birthday with the other daughter's baby shower. Lots of fun, Mexican games and would"t you know it?? My friend won the prize!

two lovely sisters. Pedro must be so proud even though he says he is not looking forward to next year, the big 15 and the big quianicerio!

As of today, we have had three batches of Canadian company and they are all now safely back in their homes up north.
Time was too short with these two as we had preplanned time in Aijic so after two days, we left, they stayed, enjoyed our beach, restaurants and dance venues.

The boys did the mountain trail behind our place

We have had the pleasure of sharing our space, our beach and our community activities with some great sports.... they ride our bikes, take the chicken buses, hang out at the tianges but then they all leave something to remember them by....a real can opener, a beautiful Oaxaca wall hanging, loonies in our peso coin jar, flavoured coffee etc etc. Aren't we the lucky ones???

Dr Rosa's clinic. One of our six guests spent a few visits here.

A big thank you to brother and sister in law. We are now proud owners of an Oaxaca weaving, a special place in our loft while help cherish the memories.
