A day in Colima

Connie slept here so we could all get the van together, up at 6 for a departure from the house on bikes at 6:30, then left from "Only Tours " site by 7.
A two hour trip to Colima, through the state of Colima and all its agricultural lands, growing papaya, pineapple, coffee, bananas, agave, sugarcane, tomatoes, peppers, cukes, oranges, three kinds of limes, cilantro etc.

Brick making, all by hand and after a certain amount are made, they build a kiln with those and then make more bricks and bake them in those kilns.

Colima salt beds were very interesting, similar to those we saw in Monte Cristo, Dominican  and boy is the salt good, the real sea salt!

breakfast at Hotel Cabellos, I tried sopitos, tiny round tortillas topped with meat and cheese. Three of us walked to a parkade and took the elevator to the top floor where we got a great view of the city and the two
volcanoes. We counted nine church spires, saw a demonstration forming in front of the government building  and admired all the city parks and the cleanliness of the area.
Shopped the square, found Christmas cards , a Christmas tablecloth and a pinata for the big day, shhhh don't tell Kaiya!!
Drove to Comala and Haceinda de Nogures. WOW!!  The photos I will post will tell that story.

A trip to the lookout for the volcanoes, the one in front named fuego, fire and the one in the rear being nevada, snow. Yes folks, they do get snow in Mexico!!

An interesting dinner in the downtown area of Comala..... hey keep bringing all this different food, free???? you simply pay for your beverages???  Connie has been paying 10 pesos for her Sol at Conche and was shocked at the 72 peso bill for her two Sol here, I figure it was a cheap dinner considering all the food we had!
Back to Melaque by seven, dark and tired had to pick up our bikes in Obergon and get that pinata and our purchases home safely. I think we'll buy headlamps as soon as we can find some!!! Or have our next BC company bring ours from home.
