Fruit of our labors before heading south

October 24, 2012

After a very busy 6 months, we are packed for Melaque, Mexico.

A trip to NB in May/June to enjoy a family wedding and an uncle's 99th birthday, another trip east in August, to Montreal this time for another wonderful family wedding, an extraordinary kayak trip on the long weekend in September, Daves trip to NB in October for his dad's 85th birthday and a four day celebration in Tofino with two other couples who share their 40th wedding anniversaries with us. This all adds up to an excellent summer with time for some projects around our property...a new roof and a concrete patio and driveway.

Add Dave's great garden to the mix and we have a healthy happy outcome

The beginning of the big project
Building a six foot retaining wall
which will extend to Dianna's mural (our ocean view!) clothes line stand not painted yet.
opps, Andy and family arrived from Alberta so Herbie needs a new spot. The driveway will be finished after they leave.

he likes it here with all the new concrete.

no more weeds overgrowing the heat pump while we are away.

Implements from childhood on the farm, now called Canobie Corner

nice and tidy under thee deck now

stamped concrete patio here for future Mexican theme after the woodshed get the latticework cover
No more storage space left on my program for photos of the new roof, sidewalks to the road, a half acre cleared and leveled for a spring field of quinoa

Sooooooooo....... Off we go... Leaving our home in great hands, and welcoming lots of folks to our winter home. There is still some room at the inn on certain weeks so, come on down!
