Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!
Our Port Alberni neighbors checking out Cuastcomte and all the pelicans
Christmas week is in full swing here with posadas, family gatherings and some gift giving to the children by expats from their RVs.
This couple is from Powell River and we awoke to the pleasant sound of children lining up for their gifts. Photo taken from the rooftop.
We had a beautiful Christmas Eve service at 5 pm with the traditional candles for "Silent Night"
Christmas Eve dinner was on the rooftop in candlelight where the four of us enjoyed bbqued prk, cranberries, applesauce, Mexicn rice, organic beans and brocolli. This was topped off with a fruit flan from our favorite pastelerie.
Phone calls and Skype brought family members closer. It is wonderful to see sparkling eyes and huge smiles but can someone stop these grandkids from growing so fast????
Christmas cards were delivered by our neighbors from Port Alberni who are spending 10 days with us. It is great having folks with us over the holiday. It is neat seeing them enjoy day trips to La Manzanilla, Barra de Navidad, Cuastacomte, Manzanillo and of course... market days. our "three hour tour" of the coast and canals took a little longer this time because of beautiful rollers on the ocean. No dolphins this time.
Traditional turkey dinner tonight at Esmereldas, seems strange to be eating Canadian Christmas fare when it is 30 degrees outside.
