Since our hikes in Indian Canyon and Tahquitz in Palm Springs and three days of fun with the Smiths and Stofers, we head to Cleveland National Forest and hung out at Dripping Springs for two days, found lots of new birds for Dave's collection.
Temecula Old Town was a highlight enroute to San Diego area. Two days with cousins in Carlsbad, thoroughly enjoying the next generation interacting with their grandparents from New Brunswick.
On the way our of town we caught up with the Macauleys to wish them well on their return trip to Vancouver Island and wish Sharon a happy 60th birthday. Originally, they were coming with us to Las Cruces for the Habitat build but had to head north with their RV as her dad is quite sick in hospital.
In Yuma, a quick stop to visit another cousin before heading to Mittry Lake for two nights with the Anakas and Kanesters. Lots of laughs, good food, a new game for us called "sticks" and a singalong. Thanks Jim.
Next morning across the border to Algondoles to do what every Snowbird does....... glasses for Dave, but others do full dental work, buy cheap perscription drugs and get the second pair of glasses super cheap. The parking lot was full as we walked across the border, did our thing, then joined the walking line to get back through customs. Finished before noon so head to Sedona via Phoenix.
Our friends here has some snow on Monday so we had a little concern for Herbie freezing our water lines but bright sunshine got rid of the snow and the temperatures are very pleasant.
The scenery here is incredible, cannot fathom those big red rocks.
The four of us had a great bike ride today and the three of them are off now on a hike around Courthouse Rock. I chose to stay home , do laundry and make dinner. It is very nice being in a condo with a washing machine!! oh, the little things that can make one happy!
Tomorrows hike is a very long one and here still are so many galleries and art villages to visit.
