The Melaque week began with the arrival of Dave and Cathy from Nanoose Bay on Saturday, July 20 and wound down, Sunday July 28
They set up their fifth wheel , we had dinner then were joined by Jack and Sue from Gibsons. An evening campfire and a good Melaque catch up visit was a great beginning to a week of friends, fun,and food, food, food.
folks trickled in over the next two days........from North Dakota, Richmond, Fort St John, Nanaimo, Qualicum, Parksville, Victoria, Sproat Lake and Port Alberni friends who visit us in our winter home.
By Tuesday, 39 of us were ready for a fiesta......great food, music and dancing, all in the great outdoors!!
Marilyn's photos of the buffet table of incredible salads, pollo mole, bbq ribs, pork loin. half a 30 pound salmon caught by Jim ( that would be 15 pounds!) and the desserts... Three kings cake, fruit salads, dream squares and then the surprise gigantic triple chocolate gluten free cake!!!
These two musicians had never met before but were harmonizing in seconds!
End of chapter one, the first three days of Whacky Melaque.
If anyone has photos they would like to add to the collection, I would be happy to include them.
