Nov 7, 2013
There probably will be very few blogs this winter as we have settled in and plan no side trips for Nov and Dec.
Last evening was a hoot as we celebrated Jack and Sue's anniversary, went to their place at 5:30 for happy hour and had heard a clap of thunder.
No worries, the four of us jumped on our bikes and head over to Scoobys in Villa Obergon for the best ribs and whipped garlic potatoes you could imagine.
Outdoor seating on the sidewalk, folks beeping horns on the way by made for a lovely evening AND. THEN...... The sky opened. We thought we could wait it out but this was a serious storm!
We walked on sidewalks under awnings as far as possible but then had to do the dash!
Water up to the chains of the bikes and sheet lightning had me imagining the local A V Times with a story,
" Local citizens electrocuted in Mexico"! The four drown rats took a pass on the planned bridge game and head to their separate homes with a "rain check" on the game until Thursday.
We will join the bridge group at Esmereldas on Thursday afternoons, and a good excuse to have one of her fabulous lunches.
I have never been so wet and laughed so hard in a long time.
When we got to our home, Hetty, Leona, Esperenza and Marta were making a dash home form Quetzel, much drier than us and I was insulted when Hetty did not want a hug!
The bank still has issues with the chip in our debit cards so all the NOBers are heading to Cihuatlan to use the bank there. We made the trip yesterday, uneventful but finally were able to pay our rent! Too funny!
The orange man came by so we have a sack of oranges , a bunch of bananas from our landlord and pineapples from the fruit truck so yummy smoothies are breakfast.
Our macaroon man found us so Dave is very happy and I am happy because our tamale man greeted us warmly with a gift of four tamales.
This is a wonderful winter home!
