Tropical Storm

Saturday, Nov 16

A real tropical storm happening! Sideways rain, thunder, lightning and 75 degree temperature.

Fortunately, today we are cozy inside our house instead of out and about like last week!
Dave has a good book, I switch between sketching and knitting and every so often get up and mop the floor! In spite of all the windows being closed, we have streams coming down the walls and across the floor.

Pilates were canceled this morning as we would need air mattresses instead of yoga mats as the river runs off the street down through Concha.
Sue and Nancy were waiting patiently under their umbrella outside Concha gate but when it was apparent pilates was not happening, they joined us for coffee. Lovely visit.

Last night we welcomed Paul and Elaine, who had driven safely down from Minn through rain and wind . Eight of us enjoyed smoked pork chops from good old Happy Cow meat store and an evening on tine our rooftop. Sure glad we had folks last night instead of tonight.

Connected with the Lavioelettes and had a wonderful afternoon in their pool. I did a Face Time with Heather this morning and she says her pool is close to overflowing!
When the Sandbergs get here we will have the four of them over for dinner.

Rich and Sue have arrived as well as Robin and Sandy, Linda and Harvey and Brian is the first unit to arrive at the uptown RV lot. That means our Bike to Breakfast group will get going soon.
Wonder what color the tocino quinientos shirts will be this year.

So routine is pretty well in place.
Mon, Wed, Fri mornings at 9:00, water aerobics in the ocean, except the last few days where the red tide smelled way too bad and some of us were still trying to get the smell out of our suits from last week... Mine smelled like decaying lobster shells. Yuck! So instead of the nine o'clock class, we joined Sharon in Barra at her 11o'clock class in Ruet's pool.

Tues, Sat ,mornings at 9 is a pilates class right across the street, so no excuse not to be in shape and drop a few of those extra summer pounds!

Tues is art class for me at 11 and Dave rides bike with Jack. They have been increasing their distance each time, going Tues and Friday. Yesterday they hit the 47 km mark.

Thursday is bridge club at 1 o'clock at the new Esmereldas so we go for lunch at 12 and then play bridge til 4.

Sunday is church followed by breakfast at Esmereldas. She does a great job of serving such a large crowd so quickly with very yummy food.

So, as you can see, there is never a dull moment in Melaque!

Happy American Thanksgiving next week to all our American friends.
