The weekend at La Cruz! Jan 18, 2014

We took the Pacifico bus from La Penita and jumped off at the overpass at La Cruz, walked down the main road to La Joya Condimiuns where a lovely lunch was waiting!
Frank and Janice are such gracious hosts.

They gave us a walkabout tour around their community

the great Huanacaxtle tree for which the town was named

happened upon a bride entering the neat little church

then down to the Marina for A Taste of La Cruz. Many vendors were present and lots of restaurants with samples of their goodies. Because we had just eaten such a big lunch, we only sampled the liquid offerings!

Entertainment was top notch . Four sets on stage, my favorite, of, course, The Blonde Gypsies. Had a chance to chat with Andrea before their show, what a sweetie.
Brian Savage also did a top notch performance on his sax, accompanied by a wonderful jazz band.
The Crazy Bitches fooled a lot of folks. Impersonating Tina Turner, Bionce, Cher and Lucille Balle was very well done and they were all guys!

Beautiful marina backdrop to the stage

and here's Latcho!!!

and Andrea, our Blonde Gypsies!!!

Brian Savage, the sax expert

From there we went to Filos for sinner and more entertainment. Good band for our dancing feet. The guy on the washboard is 82 years old and quite the entertainer.

The place was packed with Anglos having a great time. It always amazes me that you can walk around these Mexican villages and see a few Anglos and then at a venue like this you see how they all come out of  the woodwork for a good time. This is Mexico.
