Mirafloes, Lima, Peru

March 1, 2014

Little glitch yesterday, they canceled our flight from Quito to Lima for mechanical reasons, glad they did! but four hours later after a lovely free dinner, we were sitting on a chartered plane to be in the same seats as the original flight.. another little oops, we were to be in seats 25 A  and B but there were only 23 rows on the replacement plane. Getting moved up to row 5 did not hurt our feelings.
With the changes, we arrived in Lima at 1:30 am but our trusty G Adventure transport person was there to greet us and get us to Hotel Castallena by 2. There again, a lovely welcome to get us settled.
Plugged the power pack in for Dave's computer without knowing Peru was on 220V Poof! Another one bites the dust!
Sure glad we did not plug in Dave's C pap, oh dear, major hassle that would be.

So today was a walkabout Miraflores and down to the beach, the photos say it all but nothing could describe the driving pattern of the Peruvians!!! Got a cab up the hill and was very upset with the young whipper snapper until we realized that everyone drove the same way, do not want to repeat those ten minutes!
coffee beans ready to be dipped in chocolate

Our grocery store next door. Dave went to get some drinking water and decided to photograph our neighborhood

That's us!

Wanted to go but we have to leave for Cuzco

So much green space and family parks in this city

Off to the beach, malecon but many many steps to get there, at least it is all downhill.

A message for all of us.

Means the same thing in Spanish
