Mar 6, 2016

Winding down in Melaque

and what a better way to end our season here except with good friends from the island!

by the famous tree in Barra

on the beach at Valentinos in La Manzanilla

waiting for the dinner seating at Laura Lokas

Dave and Patty's famous beef and Yorkshire pudding soon to be delivered then the yummy sticky date pudding for dessert!

sunset, no extra charge

Dave and his brother entertain after dinner

Then Laura does her magic

Sunday after church, checked out Manzanillo

from the Mirador

Then decided to carry on to Colima for an overnight!  Bought toothbrushes and toothpaste at Walmart and carried on!

Our hotel, Maria Isabella on Sevilla and Camino Real, great deal, three pools, free breakfast and easy access to all the sights.

Well, maybe not so easy when streets change names in the middle of intersections!! but Dave is a great driver with the help of three navigators!!

Taking in the evening entertainment in the square

Morning swim before heading toComala on the coffee trail

Horse ride first

I understand it was a little warm in the bronze saddle

Out to  the stadium, erected every year with bamboo mats

We will be the officials for this session

Can only imagine the extravaganza here in February

The boys were impressed with the rope bindings

My battery dies in Comala but we had a lovely time at Hacienda de Nogueras and a botana lunch at the square before heading home.

We took the libre road back, past the brick making yards and the salt fields, the famous Colima salt.
