Lake Chapala and Ajijic

Reflecting on the week in Guadlajara, we loved our accom on Lopez Mateos; our meals at Canelo, Trattoria, Karne Garabildi and at the hotel; our tours of Tonala, Tlalquaquepaque, Zapopan, Lake Chapala and Ajijic and the bus rides to and from Maleque, going through La Huerta and Autlan and returning through Colima and Manzanillo.

good to be home and to church this morning to see another 6 n.o.b couples back again.

Lake Chapala, the largest in Mexico, 80 miles long and 20 miles wide, very shallow and unswimmable, shame.

try these stairs to your panga

lovely hotel on the waterfront in Chapala town

yeah Vicente! at his ranch and largest cowboy store in Mexico

can you count the number of cowboy boots?

here in Ajijc, apparently the temperature is the same year round, not too hot, not too cold.
this community is one for foreigners, coming as early as the 1800s from US

I'm guessing this was their mode of transportation at that time! planes , nada and the roads??

view of Lake Chapala from our lunch table in Ajijic
anyone needing a departure from Mexican fare, this place serves German, Italian and Canadian food as well butttttttttt we tend to be die heart Mexican!

Dave has a big hike and snorkel date with Robin and Sandy tomorrow to Quastocomate and I  return to water aerobics in the ocean.Week 3 here already. Where does the time go????
