California sun

Went to the coast on hwy 20 from Williams. Of course Dave stopped at the Olive Pit for his jalapeno blue cheese stuffed olives!

However, we found Granzellas Olive stop in Williams and stocked up on olive oil and a great cranberry dijon mustard. Also a beautiful bag of oranges and pecans from a roadside vendor.

We are among rice fields and on the second largest migratory bird layover here in the Sacramento Valley. You should see the birds! They tell us the Wetlands are threatened by the growth here.

Heading west to Lucerne and Upper Lake we see groves of olives, oranges, almonds, pecans and walnuts as well as vineyards in spite of evidence of massive forest fires.

Up and down on six percent grades five times looking at ponderosa pines and mighty oaks, lots of cattle and baby calves, early in the year I thought.

On to the 101 and through little old towns of Ukiah and Cloverdale and an overnight just north of Santa Rosa in Winston.
This morning, Wednesday, waiting for our people ferry here at Sausalita which will take us to Fishermans Wharf, downtown San Francisco for a day on the trolley cars and a great seafood dinner.

Sausalita, a lovely community

Out to the coast tomorrow at San Jose and follow the number 1 as far south until I have had enough of the bluff side of the motorhome! Did this trip in 1982, do not remember it being too bad
