Lunch in Cuastacomate

Dec 27, 2014

After returning from our Alberta Christmas, our landlords treated us to an afternoon in Cuastacomate. The hill in the background has been the morning walk for many. Esperanza's dad did it daily well into his nineties. Dave and Juan have managed it together over the years  but I still cannot be tempted!

The lobby of the hotel, which is an all inclusive resort

The beach is much busier than it was two weeks ago

Looking out to the rocky entrance to the bay

Family competition for the best mermaid

he tells me he is at a disadvantage because he has no "boobies"

Pelicans having lunch as well

Ready for the buffet

Little helper delivering hielo (ice)

Cool light fixture in the lobby

Dave sporting his new Christmas shirt

Some locals handle the heat better than us!

The cuastacomate tree, whose fruit is not edible but use for medicine

Lots of folks here from Guadalajara for the Christmas break
